CMCI offers forward-thinking programs that equip students with the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to impact the ways people communicate, and to do so as dynamic and innovative communicators. 

Their programs explore how to communicate and tell stories through data, words, strategy and evolving forms of media. Each degree prepares students to be leaders in their ever-changing information society.

Students are offered the option of 6 master’s degrees, 7 doctoral degrees and 2 graduate certificates. The school has the largest collection of functioning media from the early 20th century through the 21st century in North America.

Admissions at CU Boulder Graduate School

Admission to CU Boulder Graduate School will be considered once all material is received, including letters of reference. Deadlines vary by program type and materials are due on their respective date at 10pm MST. Applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, or have done work equivalent to that required for such a degree.

Applicants must show promise of ability to pursue advanced study and research, as judged by the student’s scholastic record and have adequate preparation to enter graduate study in the chosen field. Applicants should have at least a 2.75 (2.00=C) undergraduate grade point average.
